Since the initial release of Interspire Email Marketer v8 in August 2023, several important updates and enhancements have been made throughout the year, leading up to the latest 8.4.0 version of August 2024. Here are some of the key updates:
Support for Google OAuth2
Google OAuth2 Support was added in v8.4.0, which ensures continued access to Gmail mailboxes for bounce email processing, aligning with Google’s phased-out support for less secure app access.
Improved Engagement Possibilities
The display of the latest email campaigns on websites has been introduced, allowing businesses to showcase their most recent newsletters directly on their websites. The ability to display a feed of newsletters has been available for many years, and this feature adds more options in keeping website content fresh and increasing user engagement.
Bot Click Mitigation
To address the rise in email bot clicks, Interspire has implemented several changes, including refined click statistics, a new double opt-in process, and a new unsubscription process. These updates aim to improve the accuracy of campaign metrics and protect against unintended interactions by bots.
Enhanced Security
The introduction of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) with support for Authenticator apps (e.g., Google Authenticator) in v8.4.0 adds a significant security layer to the platform. Interspire has had email based 2FA for a while now. This adds another convenient option for users to use multi-factor authentication on the platform.
Updated Database Compatibility
Version 8.3.0 brought support for MySQL 8.x and the whole MariaDB 10.x series, ensuring compatibility with the latest database versions.
Email Header Customization
The introduction of custom extra headers allows advanced users to inject RFC-5322 compliant headers into their emails. This can be used for extra tracking, filtering, or select specific queues in SES for example.
Block Editor
In addition to the optional block editor introduced in v8, support for the excellent Unlayer Editor has been added as well. This provides users with even more flexibility and options for creating visually appealing email campaigns.
